Masters and Doctorate​ (English)

The MA and the DLitt et Phil in English are conferred on the successful completion of a dissertation and a thesis respectively. The MA dissertation must show evidence of research ability and independent thinking. The doctoral thesis must, in addition, make an original contribution to the chosen field of study. Prospective masters and doctoral candidates are required to submit a research proposal and bibliography. This submission is vetted by the chairperson of the department in consultation with relevant members of staff.​​
