Embark on a transformative journey with the University of Johannesburg’s accredited Short Course in Advanced Social Research (ASR) designed to empower working professionals with social research skills and knowledge. Course Highlights: Join us for two block weeks on campus in 2025, where you’ll engage in enriching theoretical discussions and hands-on activities. Delve deep into critical evaluations of qualitative and quantitative methodologies, while gaining experience with SPSS software. You will also have the opportunity to develop a comprehensive research proposal. Assignments are strategically scheduled throughout the first semester of 2025 to ensure a seamless learning journey. Topics covered during the course include philosophies in social research, various methodological frameworks, qualitative interviews and focus groups, qualitative data analysis techniques, ethics in social research, reflexivity and well-being in research and intersectionality in research, among others.

Minimum Requirements: All you need is an Honours degree in the Social Sciences or any related field. We also welcome applications via Recognition of Prior Learning.
