INVITATION

The University of Johannesburg’s Centre for Africa-China Studies (CACS) in partnership with the UJ Library
invites you to a webinar titled: Assessing Zambia’s New Dawn Government after a year in Power
DATE: Wednesday, 24 August 2022
TIME: 16:00 – 18:00 (SAST)
VENUE: https://zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_Z76pJoKuQLCsWbvBjWDKZg
When Hakainde Hichilema defeated the incumbent Edgar Lungu and became
Zambia’s seventh President, he declared a new dawn government. After a year
in power, it is ripe to ask pertinent questions about Hichilema’s government:
What were the immediate challenges facing the UPND government? What
substantial changes has the Hichilema administration made since coming to
power? Looking forward, what reassurance does the current government
promise to the millions of Zambians, especially the youth, who carried
Hichilema to office?
