About Dr. Chani van Niekerk

Research Interests

Dr van Niekerk’s research focuses on computational and theoretical solid state physics. She has recently completed her PhD which focused on Topological insulators and quantum states that are protected by symmetry. Following her research in these systems, she is currently focusing on simulating and studying systems containing Carbon Nanotubes.
