Duration of Study: The programme comprises of live video lectures, case studies, and additional educational reading material and resources. The lectures, will be scheduled over three days. All lectures will be recorded for your convenience and future reference. The program is conveniently presented on the user-friendly e-Learning platform culminating in an on-line examination at the end of the course. Upon registering successfully, students will receive their personalized login credentials, granting them access to the program through an online portal.
Purpose
This programme is designed to provide participants with a practical understanding of corporate insolvency law and emphasizes the underlying principles of this field as well as focuses on real-world applications. The curriculum covers a wide range of topics, including the administration of insolvent estates, recent case law updates, and legislative developments. Participants will delve into relevant legal principles related to insolvency and winding-up, examining how existing and new legislation interact and exploring the concept of business rescue. The course also explores impeachable transactions and executory contracts, insolvency meetings, interrogations, proof of claims, as well as shedding light on the liability of directors and the regulation of insolvency practitioners. While the program primarily focuses on South African law, it also addresses cross-border issues that arise when a company’s assets and liabilities span multiple jurisdictions. As an enriching addition, a guest lecture on the nature and interaction of Insolvency Law and cryptocurrencies will be featured.

Any equivalent qualification on NQF 5 level, or matric certificate on NQF Level 4
