About Dr Sharon Munedzi
Sharon Munedzi completed her primary and high school education in Zimbabwe in 2012. In January 2014, Sharon enrolled for an LLB Degree at the North-West University in South Africa. She completed her LLB Degree in December 2017 and graduated in April 2018. In 2018, Sharon pursued a Master of Laws (LLM) Degree in Mercantile Law at the North-West University and completed the Degree in the same year. In 2021, Sharon commenced her Doctor of Laws degree in Mercantile Law at the North West University. She completed the degree in two years and graduated in August 2023. She has been involved in a number of mercantile law related book and article writing projects. Sharon is a diligent and determined young woman who derives inspiration from top achievers. In 2024, Dr Munedzi was awarded the George Flannery Visiting Fellowship Award at the Sydney Law School, Australia. She worked alongside renowned academics on anti-money laundering, peer review and financial inclusion related projects. Sharon’s academic and professional interests are with Banking and Financial Markets law with specific focus on Anti-Money Laundering and Financial Crime, Financial Inclusion and Financial Regulation law.
As part of her University life, Sharon took part in; inter alia, numerous community outreach projects under the International Students Chapter as Deputy Chairperson and Chairperson at the North West University Mafikeng Chapter in 2017 and 2018 respectively. She also served as a Supplementary Instructor and Marker in the fields of Law of Delict, Entrepreneurial/Company Law and Law of Insolvency.
