26/02/2024 | National Advisory Council on Innovation (NACI) seminar The Transformative Innovation Africa Hub (TIAH) organised a seminar on transformative innovation policy and investments to the management and staff of the South African National Advisory Council on Innovation (NACI) and stakeholders. The seminar took place at the office of the National Research Foundation (NRF), South Africa. The seminar responded to idea that the world is in a deep transition, with the need to urgently address several global social and ecological challenges. 26-29/02/2024 | To celebrate its 5-year anniversary, the Chair hosted a 4-day international conference named “Transforming Africa: Innovating our way towards Sustainability”. The event included high-level moderated discussions, multistakeholder indabas, exhibitions, and a research symposium, each day focusing on a core thematic area of the Chair’s activities: Green and Just Transitions, Digital transformation, and Inclusive innovation. This conference was a problem-solving-oriented event that sought the cross-fertilisation of ideas between academia, industry, government, and the third sector to discuss pathways for Africa’s innovation-driven transformative change. |
01/03/2024 | Building a collaborative network of innovation agencies in Africa. This workshop aimed to facilitate the sharing of best practices, resources, and knowledge to spur innovation that drives sustainable and inclusive development across the continent. The workshop is based on an ongoing project conducted by the Chair with support from the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) in collaboration with the South African National Research Foundation. |
