More on UJ Campus
UJ Arts & Culture is a distinguished division within the Faculty of Art, Design & Architecture (FADA) at the University of Johannesburg. Within this division, there is a profound commitment to curating and presenting exceptional artistic programmes that seamlessly align with the University’s overarching vision.
Protection Services personnel are on duty 24 hours a day to ensure the safety and welfare of students, staff and visitors to the campuses and to control traffic and parking. They are also responsible for emergency assistance, fire warnings and first aid on campuses. For help, call us on 011 559 2555.
Equipped with meeting places, restaurants, cafeterias, recreational facilities and even shops for added convenience, our campuses are like independent villages in the city. Some of our student centres house banks, bookshops, medical doctors, hairdressers, gift shops, PostNet and a supermarket.
A residence is a community in which one meets a range of diverse students and may forge life-long friendships. In order to experience university life to its fullest, why not reside on campus? The University of Johannesburg offers students a wide selection of comfortable accommodation, which ranges from various types of residences to fully equipped apartments.
The libraries on all our campuses support the academic and research needs of students. They ensure access to books, periodicals, electronic databases and the Internet. Knowledgeable staff members are available to train students in the use of all information sources.
PsyCaD is present on all four campuses and provides a variety of services to students, staff and external clients at UJ. These include counselling, career guidance and assessments. Information pertaining to the different services is detailed below.
The University has four centers, one on each campus. Professional nurses provide services five days a week at each Centre, while sessional doctors visit once weekly for serious problems referred by Professional nurses. The Centre primarily offers primary health care to students, focusing on acute illnesses, acne treatment, mental health examinations and management, and referrals to PsyCaD for counseling.
