ABSTRACT: Tracking people has become daily practice and created large amount of geotagged data. This presentation gives an overview for various ways to analyze the collected geotagged data. These include similarity measurement, averaging, reduction of GPS trajectories and their move type detection. We consider also rapid distance calculation for clustering and facility location optimizations. Most of the developed methods are publicly available on web either as an interactive tool, API or demonstrations.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER: Professor Pasi Fränti (University of Eastern Finland) is a highly cited researcher within the fields of machine learning, web and text mining, analysis and prediction for health care data, clustering algorithms, and intelligent location-aware
systems. He has produced 300 publications and supervised over 100 masters and doctoral studies. He is editor-in-chief of AIMS Press journal of Applied Computing and Intelligence.
