Gallery vision & mission statement
FADA Gallery is an inhouse, experimental, vibrant, and transformative creative lab space devoted to stimulating innovative thinking through a host of art and design-based experiences. Constructing knowledge through cutting edge art and design practices in a diverse range of curated exhibitions, events, talks, and new media compliments the FADA teaching and learning experience, including the research and development program. Bringing advancements in local art, design and architecture developments to students, staff, alumni, and the local art community.

Farieda Nazier is a Transformative Art practitioner, an academic, and an activist, who engages in discourse on the consequences and continuities of colonial and apartheid histories. She has curated and participated in numerous local and international exhibitions, and most recently co-edited a book titled “The Politics of Design: Privilege and Prejudice in Aotearoa New Zealand, Australia, and South Africa”. Nazier has a Master’s in Art, Design and Architecture in Education from the Glasgow School of Art and has worked with institutions such as The Gold of Africa Museum, the Venice Biennale, Apartheid Museum, the Castle of Good Hope, Nirox Foundation and Muzeum Turnov.
