Land and Customary Law Research
CALL FOR APPLICATIONS: LAND AND CUSTOMARY LAW RESEARCHER
CERT seeks to appoint a researcher for a short-term archival study to be conducted from July to September 2024.
The successful candidate is required to deliver a high standard publishable desktop research report within a strict non-negotiable deadline by end September.
Key Requirements:
- A PhD or Masters’ degree in the Humanities
- Research experience in one or more of these fields in southern Africa:
- Governance Systems, Legal and Policy Frameworks, Tribal Authorities, and Customary Law
- Community and Sustainable development
- Land ownership, Claims, Reform and Disputes
- Environmental Justice, Resource and Benefit-sharing
- Contactable referees and verifiable research experience
Knowledge of San and Khoi Histories, and Nama tribal structures would be an advantage.
