Why ACEPS?
ACEPS has grown to become the top centre and institute in UJ by 2024 by hosting a significant number of international visitors, conferences and projects. Check out and apply for a grant to do a MA, PhD or PostDoc Fellowship at UJ, NRF, NIHSS, Society for Applied Philosophy. Regardless, if you publish one paper in an accredited journal a year, your fees for that year will be paid and you will be sponsored to attend an international conference to give a talk! At ACEPS, you get what you put in but with enough hand-holding to make you fly!
Interested in being supervised doing your Honours, MA, PhD or PDRF in Philosophy?
- Be supervised by Cambridge graduate and ACEPS director and Professor of Philosophy Prof Veli Mitova?
- Access to an extensive international network of RAs, contacts and visitors?
- Attend and present at local and international conferences? See ACEPS and Talks
- Attend weekly work-in-progress and writing retreats for hands-on supervision? See WIP & writing retreats

Have a look at Team & PostGrads to see what our PGs are working on and the other ACEPS links to get a good idea of what ACEPS does and whether it is a good fit for you. And if you think you have what it takes, then ACEPS director Prof Veli Mitova wants to hear from you with:
- A motivation letter explaining how your work will contribute to ACEPS
- Your academic transcripts
- Your CV
Or just contact me directly if you have already been accepted for an Honours, MA or PhD at UJ Department of Philosophy.
It is best to apply as early as possible so that any issues can be resolved, especially where this relates to funding and visas. UJ provides help at Admissions+Aid, so check there first. ACEPS offers bursaries for PGs and PDRFs dependent on availability of funds.
Looking forward to hearing from you but if in doubt just ask.
