All Campus Libraries offer information services to registered students, staff and external members. The service includes the following: General information, Subject information (Research support) and Information Skilling

General Information

Q1. What does the general information service include?

  • General information with regards to the University
  • General information queries (e.g. searches for books, journals or other information)
  • General training on how to use the Library Catalogue; Electronic Databases; Printing etc.

This service is available to registered students, staff and external members. Undergraduate students specifically find the service very useful.

Information Librarians ​

Q1. What does an Information Librarian do?

Answer:

An Information Librarian provides an information service on a particular subject area. Each information librarian is responsible for specific subjects and assists academic and administrative staff as well as postgraduate students in finding quality research level information. Assistance with information retrieval is given and clients are trained in finding information. It is advisable to make an appointment beforehand with the information librarian responsible for your subject. In some of the smaller campus libraries the Information Librarian handles both subject and general information services.

Q2. What are the office hours of the Information Librarians?

Monday – Friday, between 7:30 and 16:30.
