About Dr Laila Jeebodh-Desai
Dr. Laila Jeebodh-Desai is an Educational Psychologist and provides Psycho- Educational Assessments and Therapeutic Interventions which includes Mindfulness-Based practices, Narrative Therapy, Solution Focused brief therapy and other blended techniques. Laila practices as a lecturer at the University of Johannesburg and previously at the South African College of Applied Psychology in Johannesburg. Laila is the founder of Psychologists Beyond Borders, a Non-profit organization, dedicated to offer culturally sensitive and trauma-informed psychological support to war traumatised refugees who have faced trauma and stress from being displaced from their homes across the globe.
Laila has completed her PhD through the University of Johannesburg. Her study focuses on Trauma Sensitive Mindfulness for the treatment of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) experienced by War Traumatized Refugees.
