About Prof. Nicola Taylor
Prof Nicola Taylor holds a PhD in Psychology from the University of Johannesburg and is registered as a psychometrist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa. She has over 20 years’ experience developing and evaluating psychological assessments for the South African context. She passionate about reducing bias in assessments and exploring modern methods of test development.
In her spare time, Prof Taylor serves on a number of national executive committees, where she volunteers her time in the service of the psychology profession:
· Association of Test Publishers of South Africa (Steering committee member)
· Assessment Standards South Africa (Subject matter expert)
· Society for Industrial and Organisational Psychology of South Africa (Treasurer)
· International Test Commission (Conference committee member)
Prof Taylor’s research area is cross-cultural psychological assessment, particularly within the field of personality assessment, test construction, and the validation of psychometric assessments in the South African context.
