About Dr Zvisinei Moyo

About Dr Zvisinei Moyo

Dr Zvisinei Moyo is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Educational Leadership and Management. Dr Moyo has been a lecturer in the Education Leadership, Policy and Skills Division at the University of the Witwatersrand. She has been the recipient of the Recognition of Excellence for Outstanding Achievement in Research and Academic Citizenship in the Postdoctoral Research Fellow Programme of the University of Johannesburg. Her programme of research has three related foci. The first, focuses on women in education leadership and management. She studies the different approaches to education leadership. Since she is interested in how women are dealing with classical patriarchal systemic societal structures, this also engages her in the critical analysis of gender issues in education. This combined focus on women leading education and gender issues has also led her towards a third line of inquiry, the study of social justice in education. She has published several journal articles and book chapters including a systematic literature review in women leading and managing education. She has presented her work at numerous national and international conferences.
