About Dr Gloria Castrillon
Gloria Castrillón is the Senior Director of the Division for Teaching Excellence at the University of Johannesburg. She is a research associate in the Faculty of Education, and publishes in the field of higher education. She has extensive experience in higher education having worked in both the public and private sectors. She has taught at both school and university levels. Since 2001, Gloria has worked in the professional support domains, supporting the broader academic project. She has an MA and a PhD in African Literature, and a Master of Arts in Applied Ethics for Professionals. She is interested in many different things, often at the same time, but is singularly driven by her commitment to the provision of quality education to which her professional life has been devoted.
