About Hans W Ittmann

Hans W Ittmann holds an MSc in Operations Research from UNISA and an MBA from UP. He was with the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) for over thirty-eight years and retired in November 2011 as Executive Director of CSIR Built Environment. After his retirement he acted as a consultant and is currently an associate researcher with the Institute for Transport and Logistics Studies (ITLS) (Africa). Hans has wide experience in operations research and logistics/supply chain management with in-depth knowledge in optimization, modelling and simulation methodologies. He has published over 40 papers and chapters in scientific journals and books, presented 120 papers at local and international conferences, and reviewed over 150 technical books.
