Nthangeni Ngudo Winny is currently pursuing her PhD in Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Johannesburg and she is a lecturer in the department of Urban and Regional Planning. She obtained her Masters Sustainable Urban Planning and Development with a distinction under the Department of Urban and Regional Planning, Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment at the University of Johannesburg in 2020. She was awarded a certificate of academic excellence for her exceptional academic achievement during 2019; in July 2019, she was selected as one of the students to attend the Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment Africa by bus excursion to Namibia. Winny has also been selected for the 2019 Program Course on Resources and Environmental Management from Beijing Normal University in China. Her academic record is highly exceptional with 5 distinctions out of 6 modules completed in 2019. In 2018, she obtained a distinction on her research and mini dissertation on her Bachelor’s Degree in Urban and Regional Planning (Honours Degree) at University of Venda, Department of Urban and Regional Planning, School of Environmental Sciences and Engineering. She won the Limpopo Standard Bank Award for the best graduating student during the May 2018 graduation ceremony for the Department of Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Venda. Her academic record for the year 2018 is highly exceptional with 7 distinctions

Biography
Nthangeni Ngudo Winny is a registered candidate planner, career academic and keen researcher whose attention to detail and passion for social sustainability is second to none. She has worked in the private residential development sector for 2 years and worked for the University of Johannesburg. Winny is also currently pursuing her PhD in Urban and Regional Planning. Winny as she is affectionately known to all who have worked with and become friends with her, is a natural leader and activist whose style is consultative and empowering. Winny is an outstanding student who has won several academic excellence awards under the School of Environmental Sciences, and in the Department of Urban and Regional Planning at University of Venda. In 2018, she obtained a distinction on her research and mini dissertation.
