About Dr Aimee Viljoen

Aimee Viljoen is a lecturer and PhD candidate in the Department of Communication and Media. Her teaching moto is inspired by Benjamin Franklin and reads “Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn”. Aimee’s areas of focus are television studies, audience studies, streaming platform, and social media research. Apart from lecturing, Aimee is a mother and plant enthusiast. When she is not teaching, you can find her digging around in a veggie garden. As a younger scholar, Aimee’s mission is to humanise the research process to inspire more young people to strive for a career in research.
