About Mrs Nolwazi Nkala-Shongwe
Mrs Nolwazi Nkala-Shongwe is a lecturer in the Department of Social Work and Community Development at the University of Johannesburg. She is the fourth-year internship coordinator, and also teaches modules in fourth year. Previously, she was employed at the Gauteng Department of Health as a mental health social worker. She also worked at Tshwane University of Technology as a Student Disability coordinator. She holds a Master’s degree (Community development) from the University of Johannesburg, and currently studying towards her PhD in Engineering Education at the University of Johannesburg. She is actively involved in postgraduate supervision. Her two main niches of research specialisation are in student support and disability. She has published one journal article.
