My Masters Research focused on defining a design process model for paediatric Medical Device Design (MDD) in South Africa. Since then, I have gone on to co-author two academic papers expanding on this research. I have also supervised various BA Honours and Masters projects focusing on MDD. My Second research focus area is that of gender representation and inequality in Design industries. Over the past few years, I have been involved in various research initiatives, presented at workshops and co-authored various publications on this topic. In line with my above research interests, I was selected to serve on the first World Design Organisation’s (WDO) Young Designers Circle committee from 2020-2021.
