About Dr Lutendo Muremi

Biography

Dr. Muremi Lutendo is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Electrical Technology at the University of Johannesburg (UJ). She holds an ND, B-Tech (Cum Laude), M-Tech, and PhD in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, all earned from UJ. Prior to her academic career, she gained valuable industry experience as an Engineer Trainee at Foskor Mine and Roshqott. At UJ, she actively contributes to the education of undergraduate students by teaching core power engineering modules. She also serves as a dedicated supervisor for postgraduate students, guiding their research endeavours. She is a registered ECSA candidate, a member of IEEE and WGNET. Within IEEE, she serves as the UJ IEEE Student Branch Counselor and holds the esteemed position of Chair for IEEE SA Women in Power (2004-2026).

Her research interests encompass a broad spectrum of power systems, including Application of Statistics on Data Analysis, Insulation and dielectrics components, Conditioning Monitoring of Surge Protection Devices.
