Ms Maishiko Doreen Mojapelo is passionate about all things linguistics more especially African Languages. Doreen did her undergraduate and post graduate degrees from the University of Limpopo where she passed her BA Honours Cum Laude and her Masters in African Languages with Distinction. Her Postgraduate studies included Morphology, Syntax and Semantics, Oral Literature, Modern Poetry, Sociolinguistics and Translation. Her researches were in the fields of Onomastics, Morphology, Lexicography and Semantics.
She worked as a Managing Editor for Pearson Education and as a Literacy Associate for Room to Read. Writing Children stories comes naturally for her, she has written a Children Storybook called ‘Apola e tala’ which was published by Room to Read. She has also written decodable stories for teaching reading purposes in the Foundation Phase. She prides herself more with the role she was given of being a Teach South Africa ambassador, teaching mostly children from disadvantaged backgrounds at a rural school in Lephalale.
