Prof Khaled Aboalez

Prof. Khaled Aboalez is an Associate Professor in the Postgraduate School of Engineering Management at the University of Johannesburg (UJ) since March 2024.He is an NRF-C3-rated researcher since January 2020. He received his Ph.D. degree from Mansoura University, Egypt in 2011. He was a post-doc fellow at the National Hub for Energy Efficiency and Demand Side Management and the Centre of New Energy Systems (CNES) at the University of Pretoria, South Africa (Mar. 2012 – Feb. 2013). He was also a post-doc fellow at the Centre for Substation Automation and Energy Management Systems (CSAEMS), Cape peninsula university of Technology (CPUT), South Africa (Mar. 2015 – Oct. 2016). He was a senior lecturer at CPUT in the period January 2017- Sept. 2021. In the period from October 2021- February 2024, he was an Associate Professor of Electrical Power Systems and the head of the Centre for Research in Power Systems at CPUT.
