Curriculum Vitae Sarah GravettAbout Prof Sarah Gravett
Sarah Gravett is a Professor of Education and the former Dean of the Faculty of Education at UJ (from January 2007 until December of 2021). Her initial postdoctoral research included transformative learning, dialogic teaching and the design of learning environments in higher and adult education. Currently, she is mainly involved in projects on education imperatives for a fast-changing world, focusing particularly on teacher education and development. Here she leads projects that investigate teacher education models, the incorporation of the science of learning in teacher education, creative coding and educational robotics for teachers and using mixed-reality simulation in teacher education. She is the author and co-author of numerous books and articles on teaching and learning, teacher education and related themes and has supervised numerous postgraduate students to completion.
She is a National Research Foundation C2 rated scientist and a member the Academy of Science of South Africa (ASSAf).
