Purpose
The Master of Engineering in Sustainable Advanced Materials is aimed towards developing skilled materials engineers with enhanced intellectual capabilities and cognitive skills in the field of advanced materials design and development, sustainable and innovative processing technologies, and advanced characterization and analytical techniques. Graduates from this programme will be able to apply advanced materials technologies across a range of engineering fields, drive innovation in sustainable materials technology across diverse industries, and fully equipped to further their advanced materials research and higher studies at any top universities in the globe. Graduates are also equipped with innovation and entrepreneurship skills for building their own startup.
Career Opportunities
Graduates can pursue careers in materials scientist and engineering focusing on research, development, design and manufacturing in the varying engineering fields ranging from automobile, aerospace, mining, chemical and allied companies, marine, energy, electronics, and biomedical.
Admission Requirements
Graduates (NQF 8) of all Engineering fields and Physical Sciences with interest in Advanced Materials. BTech holders with minimum of 3 years industrial experience in the field of metallurgy and materials engineering.
Selection Process
Students are selected on the basis of academic merit and proposed/approved field(s) of study.
