Purpose
The purpose of the programme is to train participants on hybrid solar PV system design and installation. This programme will enable the participants to understand the importance of safe practices when it comes to installing and handling solar PV systems, including its challenges. The training programme will provide the participants with the necessary skills and knowledge that will improve energy generation in communities, reduce energy cost and their carbon footprint.
Career Opportunities
The potential benefits to the Solar PV sector, society, and the economy are as follows:
- Creating opportunities for self-employment.
- Reducing the risks associated with electrical installations, specifically backup installations in South Africa. With the current legislation, PV installers are not yet defined. However, private households may still be installing PV without the knowledge required to do so. The responsible installation of PV can be developed with courses covering the legal and practical requirements of PV installations.
- Drives economic growth as more electrical power will be available to the economy.
- It will further contribute positively towards improving the power generation capacity for the country relying on renewable energy sources
Admission Requirements
