Purpose
The purpose of this SLP is to introduce participants to the theory and practice of using digital public relations tools, techniques and strategies. Students will gain knowledge about digital public relations fundamentals, digital channels, social media strategies, storytelling and digital branding. Students will be able to apply the relevant knowledge to design and implementing digital public relations strategies of their organisations.
Career Opportunities
Prospective students and graduates will typically be employed across industries as digital storytellers, public relations associates, media relations associates, Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) content creators, social media specialists, digital brand managers, and social media community managers.
Admission Requirements
Typical students will be in possession of an NSC or Senior Certificate or any qualification at an NQF4, with an interest in pursuing a career in public relations in the public sector or the private sector. Selection of students will be based on the ability of students to demonstrate that they have basic communication skills and also have a reliable internet access.
